Kellie first joined Fresno State in April 2024 as the university’s first Cal NAGPRA Repatriation Coordinator. In 2025, Kellie became the new Director of Tribal Relations. Kellie develops protocols that foster positive relationships between Fresno State and local Tribes.

Sara (she/her), in collaboration with her dedicated team, leads the efforts to implement and ensure compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) and CalNAGPRA. With over a decade of experience in California archaeology, Sara is committed to ensuring that Fresno State’s repatriation practices reflect and honor the sovereignty, and values of local Native Nations. Fresno State resides on the traditional homelands of the Yokuts peoples.
