AI Policy and Generative AI Guidelines Committee

The AI Policy, Ethics, and Governance Committee is established to provide strategic oversight, policy recommendations, and ethical guidance on the implementation and use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies across the institution. 

Objectives

  • Work with existing shared governance structures to develop policies that govern the ethical use of AI across all departments, ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI applications.
  • Establish guidelines for the ethical collection, storage, and use of data, ensuring privacy, security, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, FERPA).
  • Ongoing review and recommend changes to AI-related policies and guidelines to adapt to evolving technology 

  • Advocate for the development and use of AI tools that promote accessibility and inclusivity for all students, faculty, and staff, especially for those from underrepresented or marginalized groups.
  • Ensure that AI systems are designed and implemented in ways that respect and support diverse perspectives and needs within the institution.
