Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and a time for our campus to reflect on the importance of protecting one another.

The California State University takes a strong stance to prohibit sexual violence against students and employees, and we at Fresno State take this commitment seriously. Our education and programming efforts to prevent and address sexual violence are evident as soon as students step foot on campus for New Student Orientation. All students and employees are required to complete annual training regarding violence prevention, which includes information about services on campus and how to report incidents to the Title IX Coordinator. We want to make sure that survivors of sexual assault feel supported and are aware of their rights and options.

Students, faculty, and staff can find support by contacting our Survivor Advocate, or visiting the Student Health and Counseling Center. The Victim Advocate can be reached at 559.278.6796 during business hours. Twenty-four (24) hour assistance is available, and after hours calls will be forwarded to our advocacy partner, Rape Counseling Services (RCS) Fresno.
